CME for Maintenance of Certification (MOC)

ACCME has collaborated with American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) certifying boards to simplify and align the Maintenance of Certification (MOC), also known as Continuing or Continuous Certification, process to better meet the needs of physicians and educators. These collaborations enable CME providers to add value for their learners by offering educational activities that count for both CME credit and MOC credit.

How the Process Works

  1. Submit Your Application

Complete and submit the appropriate CME for MOC application.

  • Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) - A live activity designed as a recurring series of ongoing sessions.

  • Single Live Event - A live activity in which learners participate in real time.

  • Enduring Material - An on-demand CME activity that can be completed at any time and from any location. Participants have the flexibility to engage with the activity whenever it best fits their schedule.

  • The application form is the first step in the process and must be submitted online. If you need the application in another format (such as a Microsoft Form) or have any questions, please contact the CME Office at (585) 271-1307 or susan.layton@raom.org.

2. Review & Approval

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the CME Office and we will contact you with a decision. Approved programs will receive:

  • A certification letter

  • Fee invoice

  • Checklist of required materials and next steps
