Meet the Trio
Svetlana Garitselova was born in Moscow, Russia. She started playing cello when she was almost six, winning her first competition in Moscow Russia in 1995. In 1998, Svetlana entered the Gnessin College of Music. She received her MM from P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. While there, she won the 8th International Maria Yudina Chamber Music Competition and was awarded a scholarship by I. K. Arkhipova.
Oleg Lupines received his musical training in Lviv, Ukraine and in Minsk, Belarus. While in school, he became a Recipient of the International Kotsean Violin Competition award, Prague, Czechoslovakia and a winner of a special award of the National Violin Competition, Kiev, Ukraine. In Lviv, Mr. Lupines regularly appeared as a soloist with the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, performing pieces such as concertos by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Veniyavsky, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Lalo.
Irina Lupines has built a diversified career as collaborative pianist, vocal and instrumental coach, and teacher. She has an active performing schedule as a chamber musician and recitalist and is a frequent performer at the Eastman Summer Concert Series, Eastman at Washington Square, Eastman in Geneva, Valley Manor at the Pops, and the Encore Concert Series. Dr. Lupines has performed with Paul Edmund-Davies, Michel Debost, Carlo Jans, Lorna McGhee, Gary Schocker and many of the Rochester area’s professional musicians. She also has been an accompanist for master classes of such distinguished artists as William Bennett, Michel Debost, Sir James Galway, Lady Jeanne Galway, Yo-Yo Ma, and Carol Wincenc.
