Cynthia Gordon, MSN, RN presenting updates in Telemedicine.   Cynthia has presented to national, state, and local groups on Telemedicine. She is a very involved with the American Telemedicine Association, attending annual meetings since 2007, presenting at three national conferences, and serving as Secretary for the Nursing Special Interest Group for two years. She has worked on the statewide initiative, “Burn Surge,” a program that would use Telemedicine to connect victims to major tertiary hospitals during a time of natural or terrorist disasters. She provides Webinars for the NYS Department of Health and NYSARH on Telemedicine and is additionally a Board member for the New York State Rural Health, where she is a resource for other members on the use of Telemedicine for the rural setting and for InterVol, a local Rochester nonprofit for which she coordinates an international core of volunteer medical professionals’ annual missisions to Belize, Central America. Cynthia has volunteered for InterVol in Rwanda, Africa, Leogane, Haiti, and Rosebud, S. Dakota as a nurse in multiple clinical settings and has assisted with establishing a Telemedicine program in Dangriga, Belize, connecting Belizean patients with RRH providers. In her four years at Rosebud, S. Dakota, she helped to schedule/coordinate consults between the Native Americans from the Lakota Sioux Tribe to RRH providers.
